Gareth Wyn is taking clubland by storm, setting dance floors alight worldwide. Mixmag Future Hero, Cream Ibiza Resident, he's part of the nu breed, and his unique style combined with the ability to read and interact with the crowd is fast earning him a reputation as one of the scene's rising stars. Gareth’s production skills are also gaining serious recognition. As a DJ producer his appreciation transcends genre - signed to the legendary Maelstrom Records for his up tempo productions and the market leader CR2 for his house output, alongside recent remix projects for Duffy, The Gossip, Junkie XL, BT and most recently, Township Funk. Returning to Ibiza for 2009 as main room resident with the mighty Cream, Gareth continues his highly successful association with the Liverpool superclub. Recognised as Best Breakthrough DJ at the Mixmag Ibiza Dance Awards 2007, he now rocks the Amnesia main room bi-weekly all summer, alongside the world’s biggest DJs.
Gareth produces and engineers from his own London studio, jumping between genres with his creativity. His version of The Gossip’s ‘Standing In The Way Of Control’ was one of the stand out remixes of 2007. Collaborating with Gallery resident The Viceroy produced ‘La Galeria’, a main room battle weapon signed personally by Paul van Dyk for Vandit Digital and included on Paul’s Cream Ibiza 2008 album. Gareth has remixed Junkie XL’s new track ‘Cities in Dust’, and his main room trancer ‘Beat That’ was released on the legendary Maelstrom Records, becoming a stand out track for Tiesto in 2008. Gareth’s biggest success so far was his house remix of Duffy’s ‘Mercy’. After hearing the first radio play of then unknown Duffy’s new single, he re-worked for the dancefloor, sending his interpretation to her label Rough Trade. They loved it, and made Gareth’s version the official remix for the single, appearing as a B side on the global single release. The Gareth Wyn remix has appeared on over 50 compilations around the globe to date, topping dance charts in the UK, US and Australia.
Looking forward, Gareth’s latest trancer ‘Cuba’ was released in February this year on Maelstrom, already predicted by Paul van Dyk on his NYE Radio 1 show as a stand out record of 2009. Gareth’s latest house production ‘You’re No Good For Me’ was selected by Pete Tong for his bedroom bedlam competition in January, and was immediately snapped up by UK house leaders CR2 for a summer release, and Gareth’s remix of the classic BT record ‘Flaming June’, described by BT himself as ‘awesome’ has been causing serious damage in clubs over the last few months. Maelstrom have also just signed the Justice EP, two main room trancers ‘Justice’ and ‘Mozaik’, again set for a summer release. Keep your eyes on the booth and ears to the speaker - Gareth Wyn is on fire!
