Thank you for stopping by... and thank you to all of you who have left such lovely comments on my photos and who have invited me to so many great groups. This Flickr community is fabulous!

While I cherish each and every comment and fave, before you go any further in my Flickr photo stream, you should know that I only comment on your photos about once a month. Please don't feel the need to comment on my photos as I will continue to upload on a daily basis.

The bottom line is that I cherish your Flickr friendship whether you comment on every photo or once every hundred photos.

I'm a family friendly photography type of gal, so if you have or fave creepy or adult content photos, please know that as soon as I catch on, you will be blocked.

My first noteworthy published photograph was in the March, 2009 edition of Cowboys and Indians magazine. They published one of my photos of Red Canyon. It's on page 125 of this collectors' issue.

A full page spread in the 2009 edition of the Capture Cincinnati book was a nice surprise.

This French thrill-seekers site features a photo I took of the "Son of Beast" ride from an airplane, with my old film camera. The gentleman who created the site was very nice about his request to use the photo. Mine is number 8 of 10.

Rays from Heaven

Rays from Heaven (above) means more to me than I could ever express.

Mining for Gold

Mining for Gold (above) is one of my captures that should have happened years before. I walked around that lake so many times and often thought I should have a camera. When I finally started getting serious about photography,

an illness hit that delayed the photo even longer. Finally, I captured this with my first digital camera.

Rexx Sunlight Eyes

Rexx (above) is my Quarter Horse gelding I've had since his birth in 1990. In 2003, he made it through a massive surgery to remove 17 feet of intestine at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital. It was a rough road for a while, but he pulled through, thanks to a great vet who wouldn't give

up if I didn't give up. The light shining on him the day I snapped this photo was beautiful and I was very happy it turned out this way.

In addition to photography, I've started writing children's books and have a novel in the works. I'm once again discovering the creative side that has been suppressed so many years.

Jenny is one of the strongest women I know, but as strong as she is she is just as soft hearted. Jenny has been a friend to me in many ways and I'm so glad I met her. I have learned a lot from watching her postings and taking advantage of how bright she is. She has incredible talent as far as photos and writing. There is probably much more that I'll learn about her as our friendship grows. I love when she posts pictures of her critters, her extended family. You can tell how much love and compassion she has for them.... and from the stories she tells about them it's easy to see they love her as well. It has been an honor to know and be Jenny's contact and friend. I consider myself lucky to share in her happiness and I'm glad to be here for her if she needs me. Thank you Jenny for all your photos, stories, advice, friendship and most of all for you being you.

Jenny, first and foremost, is a joy to know. She is genuine and warm and supportive and critical (in only the best way!), and she's a wonderful friend. I can't imagine how different my Flickr experience would be without her, but I'm certain it would be a lot less bright. She's a ray of light here with her friendship and sense of humor and her wonderful way with words. There's a reason she's been published; she's an amazingly talented writer. All that said, the ultimate reason we're here is for our photography, and Jenny's photostream is easily among the best there is here on Flickr. Her photos are real and they're life-affirming, and they're honest -- just complete reflections of Jenny herself. She instills humor and she instills pain and she instills excitement as appropriate to the subject. She also instills lots and lots of love and caring, which is reflective of who she is, and that is the one thing I really like about her. She's honest and true and I'm glad I've met her here so that I can take a daily dive into her corner of the world and see what she sees.

Jenny Gandert , Aunt JenJen or RED TANGO, whichever of these name you have in your mind whilst you are here in her profile you must agree with me that she is so talented with words and pictures, but untill you get closer and communicate with her you cannot know just what a fantastic person she is, from the wonderful comments she gives and the interest she takes in your work and your views on her work. She seems to have a really wonderful life which she richly deserves. I feel so lucky to have such a good friend. Pixellie . Bill Spalding.
