Gabrielle Swindlehurst's Artist Statement

Through my work I attempt to examine the phenomenon of shadows and light as a methaphorical interpretation of both Dick Ket and raking.

My mixed media "rhipicera femorata" embodies an idiosyncratic view of Saint Rita, yet the familiar imagery allows for a connection between Walt Whitman, ping pong balls and spotted dicks.

My work is in the private collection of Vincent Price who said 'Sweet, muscular Jesus!, that's some real flamboyant Art.'
