what is there to say about gabe scalises' work that can't be said about superstars such as ansel adams, richard avadon, rankin, and terry richardson? gabes work somehow remains incomparable. gabe scalise serves up a retrospective look at life, friendship, and what it means to travel the world through his photographs. they offer an interpretive journal, showing the feelings we have all experienced, and hiding feelings which should perhaps remain hidden. the photographs remain in the present, long after they have been snapped. gabe captures the raw, uncompromised sight of his subjects, asking the viewer to look inside themselves, and decipher what "living" will mean to them from this point onward.
