I was born in September 1947, along with all the other models in my family. I find it odd that all cars are born on the same day, the NewModelYear of September!

I was no ordinary car though, I was different from the rest, a Profession Car from my birth. My destiny was to drive with dignity. Slowly and purposefully I'd lead others, our headlights blazing the way as nothing stopped us on our journey. On lookers would stare in reverence as we passed.

I don’t remember all that much from the old days, as a Professional Car my glory days were limited, once you start to age it is all but over. For many years I moved around handling odd jobs and then mostly sitting. It was quite depressing after hauling all those empty bodies to realize I was now one myself.

Then one day I was brought to a special rehab in Virginia, Dehaven Enterprises. I remember my Doctor Ronnie, he went to work on me right away. I could hardly move anymore. He led the team through many difficult operations which included a stub frame replacement, and an engine/tranny transplant. I was feeling great and being surrounded by those street rods made me feel young again.

The team didn’t stop there but continued on with some major cosmetic surgery. I felt great and we had a lot of memorable times together. Eventually Ronnie succumbed to the inevitable last phase of life. There I was ready and willing but unequipped to take his empty body on its final ride as I had done to countless other empty bodies of people I had never met. It was a sad occasion indeed.

Without Ronnie I began to sit a lot again. I began thinking about the old days and was giving up once more when Majick came along. I was quite excited by his enthusiasm but I had a false start, there was something about a serial number plate and he was gone. Months passed and one day some guys from the state showed up and nailed me with a new serial number plate. The next thing I know I am with Majick again heading to a place called Pennsylvania and a new life. This is really great, I am a street rod and running around with the fast crowd once more. Majick though, has fixed me up to haul again. I enjoy having pretty girls and handsome guys an board laughing and going to proms, weddings and parties. Everyone loves me and they all want a closer look. I know that someday I will be called upon to haul an empty street rodder body to its final rest and I will do it with class and dignity.

I am in a newly formed club of Professional Cars, the Mohnton Professional Car Club and it is quite exciting hanging out with ”family”. I am the ‘old man’ of the group like Majick, but it is nice being accepted for your wisdom.

I’m always on the lookout for new friends so feel free to drop me a line. BTW nothing revs me up like bare metal and revealing primer, show me what’s under those fender skirts, I’m not in the scrap yard yet;-)
