I am passionate about photography. My photographic subjects are primarily related to people. Therefore my focus is on portraits and streetlife.

The compactness of the Microfourthird system allows me to take my equipment with me almost all the time. My preferred tool is my Olympus epiupment. Panasonic (Lumix) completes my gear.

Meanwhile, I also work with a full frame Sony A7RII to play with shallow depth of field. Beside digital lenses old analog OM Zuiko lenses are adapted to the camera.

In the 1980s I was a semi-professional wedding and social photographer. In the 1990s I occasionally worked as a model.

The immediate beauty does not have a great photographic attraction for me.

It is rather the discovery of a moment, a fleeting scene that apparently contains something unique, perhaps also a touch of mysticism, that prompts me to trigger. Some motifs seem empty at first - they merely provide an exciting geometry - and then all of a sudden gain life through a special light stimulus or when a person enters. Thus, places are comparable to theatre stages: there is a backdrop, I am waiting for the light and the actors. Shot!

Ich fotografiere aus Leidenschaft. Meine fotografischen Themen haben in erster Linie mit Menschen zu tun. Insofern liegt mein Fokus auf Portraits und Straße. Die Kompaktheit des Microfourthird-System erlaubt mir, fast ständig meine Ausrüstung mitzunehmen. Vorzugsweise fotografiere ich mit Olympus- und Panasonic-Austattung .

In den 1980er-Jahren war ich semiprofessionell als Hochzeits- und Gesellschaftsfotograf unterwegs, in den 1990er-Jahren gelegentlich als Model.

Das unmittelbar Schöne übt auf mich fotografisch keinen großen Reiz aus. Eher die Entdeckung eines Augenblicks, einer flüchtigen Szene, die scheinbar etwas Einmaliges, vielleicht auch einen Hauch Mystik in sich birgt, bewegt mich auszulösen.

Manche Motive wirken im ersten Moment leer - geben lediglich eine spannende Geometrie vor - und gewinnen dann durch einen besonderen Lichtreiz oder durch das Eintreten einer Person, auf einmal Leben. So sind Plätze vergleichbar mit Theaterbühnen: es existiert eine Kulisse, ich warte auf das Licht und die Akteure. Auslöser!
