My passion for design and the fiber arts never seems to leave me. Even when working for Corporate America, I always have a new idea bubbling in the back of my head. I am never far from a little idea notebook and a pencil.
The Funky Quail knitting shirts came to be several years ago. My sister introduced me to this art, and I became, in her words, a prolific knitter. I wanted to get her a fun shirt to celebrate her birthday and couldn't find anything on the market that was suitable. We approached my step-daughter to create the art from our ideas (she can draw - we can not!) and Funky Quail Studios was born!
I had picked up sewing again about ten years ago, and this became a revived interest for me. Several years ago I gifted myself with a real studio, and it is a true place of peace for me. I do not sell anything made from a commercial pattern and find it better to create my own so that I end up with a product that does exactly what I need it to do.
My broad range of interests in crafting show up in journal making, magnets, gocco printing, tie dye, and others. Items of this nature appear in the store.
While Funky Quail Studios and our family corporation involve several people, Elizabeth is the voice here and on Etsy. Unless otherwise stated, the design work is hers as well. Becky created the art for the tees.
