Self-taught amatur photographer who caught the bug approx 5 years ago. First digital camera was a 2MP Toshiba. Used a bunch of Point & shoots until 2007, when I got a Nikon D40 with 18-55 lens and SB-40 flash. Never looked back since. There's always something new to learn and I enjoy browsing flickrstreams & meeting fellow photo-enthusiasts online.

Current equipment set (for fellow hardware geeks):

My favourite FlickrStreams

- My Brother's photostream

My inspiration to join Flickr and take on Photography as a serious hobby

- Lauren Havenga's photostream: a good friend who I mentored in amateur photography and has now equalled or surpassed myself (she's awesome, check out her stuff!)

- The Nikon DSLR Bistro: my fave flickr group, visited regularly.

Fave sites

- Joe Mcnally's Blog: another major source of inspiration, a personal hero of mine (photo-wise)

- Digital Photography School: Fantastic place to learn about modern photography techniques, digital editing and receive miscellaneous advice

- Thom Hogan's website. Quintessential Nikon-guy for all things Nikon.

- Photozone: All-in-one review site for cameras, lenses and so on. Very comprehensive reviews on a wide variety of lenses.
