LOOK AWAY IF YOU WANT TO SEE ARTISTIC PHOTOS! I think that (my kind of) photography is quite far from being a form of art. I take pictures of what I like because I can't draw it, and when I take pictures of what I like often I don't fine tune the camera setup, resulting in underexposed (less often overexposed), shaky, out of focus, tilted, confused pictures also missing proper composition. I see it this way: photographers who regard themselves as "fine artists" should bear in mind that they are taking a picture of something they didn't make, with a machine they didn't invent, with rules of graphical communication heritage from centuries before. So what are they really doing? Tweaking some knob and pushing a button on a device they bought (or just borrowed). So, is that art? I think there's more TRUE art in fishing, where on a line attached to a rod the fisher has to carefully move the lure to simulate the behaviour of some insect, literally ACTING to persuade the trout that it is something edible. So, shut up you "wannabe posh photo artists" please. I'm not an artist, just a trigger clicker. Also I think geotagging kills a huge part of a picture's "soul", since it's not really important where I take the pic but what I feel when I click the button. I'm a bit jealous of the places which inspired me...

GUARDATE ALTROVE SE VOLETE VEDERE FOTO ARTISTICHE! Penso che (il mio tipo di) fotografia significhi qualcosa di molto lontano da una forma d'arte. Scatto fotografie di soggetti che mi piacciono perche' non so disegnare, ma quando scatto fotografie spesso non imposto correttamente la macchina fotografica, per svogliatezza o errore, per cui vengono foto mosse, fuori fuoco, inclinate, sottoesposte (piu' raramente sovraesposte), confuse e senza composizione corretta. Secondo me i fotografi che si ritengono "preziosi artisti" dovrebbero ricordarsi che spesso stanno scattando foto di qualcosa che non hanno fatto loro, con una macchina che non hanno inventato, con regole di composizione altrui, ereditate da secoli di studi pittorici di artisti che io ritengo "veri". Quindi cosa fanno i fotografi realmente? Girano qualche selettore, spostano qualche levetta e premono un pulsante su un dispositivo che hanno comprato (o preso in prestito). E questa sarebbe arte? Ritengo ci sia piu' VERA arte nel pescare, dove su un filo attaccato a una canna da pesca il pescatore deve muovere attentamente l'esca artificiale per simulare il comportamento di qualche insetto, letteralmente RECITANDO per convincere la trota che quel pezzo di metallo e' qualcosa da mangiare. Quindi, statevi zittini voi "volonterosi sopraffini artisti della fotografia" per favore. Io non sono un artista, io premo bottoni. E il "geo-tagging" distrugge la poesia di una foto, perche' non e' importante dove scatto tale foto, ma cosa penso e provo mentre premo quel pulsante. Oltretutto sono anche un po' geloso dei posti che mi hanno ispirato...
