Adaptation new sports to Britain has offered alternative and fun ways to exercise.

Our Club was formed in 2008 to help promote and play the beach racket sports we love, such as Beach tennis , Brazilian Frescobol, Matkot and Palas.

With the increase in knowledge and the accessibility of health information on the internet attitudes towards health and fitness are rapidly changing.

Even though the will to exercise is not always there, many people combat this negative emotion and still peruse various forms of exercise.

I am happy to say that as a keen fitness fanatic myself I was delighted to see how rapidly the interest in new alternative and extreme sports are taking off. It seems as if every time you switch on the Sports channel there is a new sport that has made it to Olympics or into the recognised winter or European or Caricom games.

Some are winter sports and some are summer sports that have been adapted to traditionally cold places.

One such sport is the popular Brazilian beach sport of Frescobol (Frescoball) with although similar to beach tennis is remarkably different but exciting never the less.

This traditional Brazilian beach sport has snuck its way into Britain and crept quietly into our parks and local sports hall. This game which once seemed look kind of odd being played indoors is now common place in several leisure centres.

By trawling the internet we have found one such UK based club which had started a project that will benefit the communities in London by offering free weekly frescobol training sessions to members of the public subject to availability of spaces.

On speaking to the Chairman of the ‘Superflex Indoor Frescoball Club’ located in Croydon London.

We learned that over the last twelve months their membership has been growing rapidly. They have promised many fun and exciting events for the upcoming summer.

With free weekly frescobol training sessions coupled with a good fitness work-out there is no better time than now to get to it and get in shape.

Finding a sand /Beach volleyball court to play beach tennis on in London is sometimes difficult. but if you are willing to join us i the park, we see up the beach tennis nets there and play. You will not be able to dive for the ball, but you can still have lots of fun.

The web address is included below for those who wish to look into it themselves

Make a positive change today:

Poor exercise and bad health habits of the people of London results in a heavy financial burden on the NHS. The Sports Council, Proactive South London, , the London 2012 Olympic committees and other sporting bodies with the assistance of the National Lottery are raising the profile of sports and promoting a healthier approach towards sports in the UK

This Community project and the introduction of this new sport to the people of London will help to encourage people to exercise and offer a new and exciting sport to the people of London and would benefit the youth by improving their health as well as occupy their minds and hopefully reduce their inclination to idleness and subsequently crime.

Frescoball is cheap sport to partake in especially in times of the dreaded credit crunch.

It only requires as small space with minimal maintenance. A cheap investment compared to most sports.
