although it is commonly thought, that through the display of images one can get a glimpse of the world through the photographer’s eyes--—an idea i once subscribed to as well---nothing is further from the truth.

any message, be it verbal or visual, are invariably and irreversibly warped, modified, and shaped by the medium through which we express ourselves.

likewise, the process of perception is inexorably subject to distortion and interpretation. thus, at no step is perfect parity between content and reception possible.

in other words, the very nature of human communication is fallible. i take this fallibility further, to humanity. this is not to mean that life does not deserve dignity. to the contrary, i submit here that life, in all its highs and lows, for this very fallibility, or rather, spontaneity, should be celebrated, as such.
