I consider myself extremely lucky, for the past six months, to have been exposed to graphic art of the highest order, straight from the mind of Michael Thompson. And, based on the comments that I have seen during that time, I am assured that I am not the only one blown away by his work. But what truly impresses me about this young man is his commitment to fairness in this harsh world. He has placed himself, without apologies, in the struggle against discrimination, on the side of those wronged while, at the same time, never forgetting to celebrate the beauty to be found around us. Michael's graphic art always rests in the center of the bull's eye, and delivers the essence of whatever issue he chooses to focus his darts: be it the massacre in Gaza; guns in Kingston; racism everywhere; pain and sorrow.
