Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is ideal for those looking for a relaxed, traditional cruise experience. There is a definite ‘home from home’ feel throughout the fleet of four ships – Black Watch, Braemar, Boudicca and Balmoral – all of which are small by today’s standards, with the largest, Balmoral, carrying only 1,350 passengers. Firmly targetted at the British market, the atmosphere on board is friendly and relaxed, more akin to a country house hotel. Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines firmly believes that 'It's all about the people' and our staff pride themselves on their high levels of customer service.

For most of the year, the ships are based in Britain, with cruises departing from Southampton, Dover, Rosyth (for Edinburgh), Greenock (for Glasgow), Liverpool, Portsmouth and Newcastle. A winter Caribbean fly-cruise programme on Braemar operates from Barbados, with connecting flights from London Gatwick and Manchester.

Itineraries range from popular areas, such as the Mediterranean, Canaries, Baltic, Norway and the Caribbean, to the longer, cruise voyage routes – ‘Around South America’ and ‘Around the World’. The compact size of Fred. Olsen ships makes them ideal for exploring some of nature’s most wondrous sights, such as the scenery of the Norwegian Fjords and the Arctic, or the tiny island jewels of the Pacific or West Indies, areas which some of the larger vessels operated by some of Fred. Olsen's competitors cannot access so easily.
