Frederick Anguiano
Drag to set position!
My name is Fred Anguiano and I draw and design under the alias "siaf". I live in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago, IL, USA
I am influenced by surreal, graffiti, horror and abstract art. Some big influences are Herbert Baglione, Beksinski, Sam Flores, Sirk, Hamilton Yokota (titifreak), South American graffiti in general, Alex Pardee, Mike Giant, Dali, Eric Thomas Bostrom, Augor and so on....
Almost all the work I upload here is done with Sharpies and then digitally processed/colored. I have given several more "professional" and expensive markers a try, but nothing quite compares to Sharpies for me.... once I learned Mike Giant made a career out of using them, I was convinced. More recently I've been trying out watercolors.
I try to make my own process as subconscious as possible, and often limit any sort of compositional thinking to the final, digital stage. My best work comes when I am doodling on the job or waiting for a ride etc.
I am interested in hidden images in my work, both intended and unintended. This explains the digitally reflected pieces. I am also clearly obsessed with faces, and to a lesser extent recently, demons.
