I'm an amateur photographer, but I have been fortunate to watch and learn from my Mother who has amazing talent in all things artistic.
I try to impart Platonic ideals to my subjects, carefully choosing their composition, framing, color content and detail until they are as close as I can get to the ultimate expression of the chosen subject. Of course I am not always successful, but I love the learning process and feel that a person is perhaps more fully alive when trying to spot that one moment and image that encapsulates the experience of being in that place and time. I wish to convey the ideal essence of the experience for the viewer. Let me know how I'm doing and thanks for visiting!
UPDATE- All images posted previous to 6/15/2007 are basic editing only, cropped, rotated, sharpened, filtered, etc, no PhotoShop. I have recently received PhotoShop as a gift (Thanks Mom & Tony!) and have begun to experiment with that process. My abovementioned modus operandi is the same, but I will probably stray from those guidelines occasionally as the artistic muse strikes me and the learning process must stretch its previously-held boundaries. Bear with me as I find my footing in this new forum and as always, thanks for looking!
