I love Frank Eleveld's work. His latest work [at the time of this writing] is a series done in Texas. He's a European who's fallen under the spell of the place. Not the Texas of oilwells and cities, but the other Texas, of small towns and immense flat vistas of rangeland. In that kind of country, things, objects, visions and manifestations stand out without the confusion trees, urban clutter or people. They are exactly what they are, captured in the crystaline clarity of Portra 400 [usually] and a Hasselblad. No Photoshop, no post-processing. A purity of subject and means and thought coming together in perfect form and composition. Thank you Frank, for taking the time, the effort and money to come to America a find those things that we Americans don't often see as clearly; for documenting and weaving your art both in America and Holland.
