Photography is a creative outlet for me. I have used an SLR digital camera (Olympus E-410), point-and-shoot digital cameras, and now just use a Motorola cellphone to capture images. I'll edit and enhance them in Adobe Photoshop or on a cell photo app, if desired.

I shoot still life, landscapes, waterscapes, clouds, birds and flowers. All of the flowers shown in my photostream were grown and photographed in my home garden.

My themes often deal with the spiritual, life, death, and the universe and are imbued with heavy symbolism. They are often surreal or abstract. I like to step away from the traditional constraints of photographic realism and create images that liberate thought. I look for beauty in the unexpected and assert the power of the unconscious and dreams. I like to use incongruous elements together just to elicit some kind of emotional response. Occasionally, I use or combine painterly effects within the photograph to make the subject resemble a painting rather than an actual photo.

I think the digital medium is a very exciting art form compared to the older system of film which I used for many years.
