My tribute gallery to your work: www.flickr.com/ph... For me, the excitement in fourcotts's work is all about geometry, although it's a brilliant, edgy geometry that's really hard to define ... Sometimes it's very sharp and square, symmetrical, lined, bold ... Other times, it's so subtle and wavering, a bit curved, a bit tilted. Best of all for me I think is those pictures which undercut my expectations, throwing in an element of doubt - particularly the last few in this gallery. Their very deviating from expectations, in framing, off-centredness, or use of slabs of negative space, nothingness, brings the dynamics of the compositions alive. It's a clever and involving balancing act which makes your work really exciting to spend time with ... Choosing just 18 images from the vast array in your stream was a real dive-in pleasure.
