I like photos that tell a story more than contrived photos that are stopped in time. I have more of a background in literary analysis, and I like to bring this into looking at photos. What happened before this photo was taken, what happened afterwords? How have the characters been changed by the action? There is always a story to be ferreted out, sometimes revealed...sometimes not...the joy is in the hunt.
