My photography hobby grew out of my love of adventure, native plants, animals, and nature. I also particularly enjoy photographing architecture and food as well as people doing things they enjoy in places that they love.

The photos here on my Flickr account are a mix of casual snapshots and my more serious hobby photography as well as some of my commissioned work. My Flickr photostream is not about only showcasing my best photographic work. In fact there are some photos here that are not very good, technically speaking or quality-wise (including cell phone shots). What they all have in common is they are things of which I want to keep a visual record for whatever reason. Basically, I use my Flickr account as a visual journal and notebook as well as a backup in case my computer crashes. I also like to document hiking trails and which plants are blooming when and where.

Most photos prior to July 2010 were made with a Sony ultra compact point & shoot. After that point in time my primary camera has been a Canon 5D Mark II. My favorite lens is my Canon 100mm f/2.8L macro IS.
