Algorithms + Photographs = Digital Art

I'm a software engineer, and have worked for my entire professional life in the field of imaging software. I have recently begun adapting some image processing tools I have written in the past to photographic images. Since the tools are oriented towards non-interactive use, the processes applied to these images are not done with a GUI, but rather through written scripts containing commands and parameters. Each script is written for a specific desired effect, and tuned to each image.
