Taking photos is my hobby.

I like the way it trains me to perceive the world around me in a different, sharpened way. I also like the technical aspects of making a good photo.

The best feeling is to have a creative vision and then being able to set everything up in a way that I can really do the shot I wanted. (Although being at the right moment at the right place, pushing the trigger and making a photo of similar quality is also a quite rewarding feeling I have to say...)

My money I earn (currently) by thinking about brains. I am doing a PhD in a field called "theoretical neuroscience" trying to find out more about how the 10^10 neurons in our skull work together in this big orchestra we call mind.

I really like what I do and if everything works as planned I will finish my PhD this year (2011).
