I am an orchid species collector and breeder on a small scale. I like the growing of orchids most. Getting them to flower is the ultimate goal, but it's just part of why I like them.

Note that I am not a botanist nor an credentialed expert on orchid species identification. When not known for sure, I try to figure out the correct ID by my access to limited free information online and others who care to offer their opinions/knowledge.

I am interested in all growing stages of my orchids. When I first see a species (either directly or in a picture) it’s usually in flower. I think it is interesting to see what the plant looks like when it’s in all stages of growth, not just flowering. I try to post some photos of different stages as well as the flowering pictures for that reason.

Please be nice and respect the copyright status of photos. As I understand copyright law (my understanding may be flawed or incomplete), copyright applies to images by default. Unless the author has given certain types of authorizations via a Creative Commons license or specific permission to you, all rights are retained by the author. It would be wrong to assume that just because there's no notice on an image that it's not copyrighted.
