I have two online stores www.hypnotransformations.etsy.com and flaxenk123.etsy.com
I am a hypnotherapist that is certified by the National Board for Certified Clinical Hypnotherapists. To be certified by the board I must be working in the helping profession and I must have a Master's degree in the field. I am a counselor with a Master's degree in social work and I use hypnosis in my daily work with my therapy clients. In my full time job, I work as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor and I help people addicted to a variety or substances and behaviors.
I know from direct experience that hypnosis is extremely effective with helping people change their behavior. Because I see so many positive results, I decided to offer this wonderful tool to people other than my therapy clients.
I was introduced to wheel throwing back in the mid 90's. I got an announcement for a pottery class in the mail and thought WOW I would love to try that. I have taken classes on and off throughout the years and recently bought my first pottery wheel!!! I decided to turn one of the bedrooms in my house into a studio. Needless to say, if I ever decide to sell, I will have to do some serious clean up in there.
I really love the process of taking a chunk of clay and letting in find its own shape while I guide it. The idea of creating something unique, one of a kind and functional (usually) is pretty amazing to me.
Creating pottery is a huge stress reliever for me. I am a therapist and working with people in turmoil can be a bit stressful at times. All of my "work stress" seems to disappear when I start playing with clay.
Other than pottery I enjoy spending as much time as I can with my boyfriend, family, and friends. They all think it is hilarious how excited I get when I create a new piece. :) My sister, Amy, also makes pottery and has an ETSY store as well. Check her out if you get a chance at aktpottery.etsy.com.
Feel free to email me with any questions.
