I have been interested in photography since I was given the family plastic Kodak Box Brownie. It took 8 frames on 127 film, most of which had some fogging. However I wanted to know more and took more of an interest when I had access to a darkroom at college. At 18 I bought my own black & white darkroom, which I still have and use. I also bought a Chinon CM-4s and some cheap lens covering 28mm to 200mm but I have sold all that now. I presently have a Nikon FG that I bought second hand in the 80s, which I now use for macro work. I invested in a Nikon F90X a few years before digital took hold but I still take plenty of work especially wide-angle Landscape / urban Photography with my 20mm lens on Fuji velvia film. I became more prolific after buying a Nikon D50 which I hope to convert to infra red. I now use a Nikon D700 and a Samsung NX300. I haven’t turned my back on film as I bought a second hand Mamiya 645 Super and a Yashica D (TLR) used with a Weston Master IV light meter I have had over 30 years (reconditioned and spot on :) )

I worked as a photographic printer for 15 years and since I left the profession my interest in photography funnily has become greater.

I am interested in all aspects of photography (less so in natural history [bird on sticks] I am a member of a Photographic Society that have members that are very good at taking a bird on a stick shots and although I appreciate the work required I’d rather see a good landscape / seascape / urban / portrait / sport / Photo-Journalist / record shot).
