Flame of Africa
Drag to set position!
Established in 1958, Flame Lily Holidays provided packaged vacations to Victoria Falls for generations of travellers.
In 2006 her sister company, Flame of Africa, was established. Offering a full travel service to all the Southern African destinations; Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe & South Africa.
Our Durban based destination management team have many years of experience between them. Offering unbiased consulting and a professional, hassle free booking service, this office’s expertise is reinforced by regular site inspections and a network of tried and tested travel partners.
With two regional offices in Kasane and Vic Falls, Flame of Africa is well positioned to provide our clients with the best ground handling service. We boast a full fleet of transfer vehicles, a safari vessel, fishing boats and game drive vehicles. Our Kariba based, Lady Jacqueline, a 65 foot luxury houseboat, is ever popular with tourists.
Brett McDonald, the owner of Flame of Africa, was instrumental in the re-launch of the hugely successful Zambezi Queen vessel.
Brett is currently working on his latest project that is set to ignite the travel industry - Our Chobe based River Lodge. The concept of Lodge is to combine luxury, spacious, land-based accommodation units with a splendid cruising vessel. All meals and game viewing will be done on board and down time will be spent in the tranquillity of the lodge. The lodge itself is superbly located on the banks of the Chobe River, with each unit having a private balcony over-looking Sedudu Island that is home to a variety of buffalo, elephant, lechwe and puku to name but a few. The vessel, unencumbered by the size of traditional accommodation boats, will be able to navigate the full length of the Chobe River and the Kasai Channel up into the Zambezi River thus maximising the game viewing experience and evading the present tourist crowds. The official opening date is set for November 2014.
