I began my interest in railways back in the late 70's in my then hometown of Carlisle where I was an avid spotter complete with Ian Allan Combined Volume. This later progressed into 'haulage basher' and led to many thousands of miles chasing obscure haulage across the country. At the same time my interest in railway photography also took off using an ancient Petri 35mm SLR. As soon as I can afford a decent slide scanner then I intend to add many of these images from my slide collection taken during the 1980's. Photos up to May 2018 were taken using a Canon 450D with stock 18-55mm or 50-250mm telephoto lenses, and latest photos are now being taken using Nikon D7500 with Nikon 50mm prime (nifty-fifty), 18-200mm Nikon, and Sigma 150-600mm Sports lenses. I am based on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds in the market town of Spilsby so most of my travels involve quite a journey as the only local line is the Boston to Skegness route which sees very little freight, railtours or test trains. I work full time so class myself as purely amateur photographer but welcome constructive criticism via fishphone75@gmail.com
