I fancied a change so I am no longer a Delivery Director for a large IT / Management Consultancy company....I am now a student of archaeological science Durham University.

My interests are anything related to space (a hangover from my academic studies as a student) Earth sciences, a hang over from, just for the hell of it, academic study as an adult. Human evolution, an interest since my mid teens when I saw Richard Leaky's The making of man kind. I will never lose my love of chess although I am no longer good enough to play the weekend tournament circuit or play for the county team, chess is a younger mans game.

In terms of photography I like wildlife, natural landscapes, and sports action but generally I like photographing anything as long as it is not people, unless they are doing sport. I had my first SLR aged 10, and I took that on a school trip to Italy when I was 11. That was eventually replaced by a brace of Minolta Dynaxs in the form of a 7000i and 3000i, I used these until 2007. I also had a period with a Sony F828 a fantastic concept that exceeded the technology available to implement it.

I also enter competitions, at a local club, the midlands club union, plus the odd one I find on-line.

I shoot a D300S and D7000, and I have access to D5000s as my wife and youngest daughter both have one and a D90 as my wife has one. and a P100 as my eldest daughter has one.
