In my early teens I began writing, illustrating, and composing songs for stories--and I'm still doing it. My first batch of photos on this site belong to my self-published novel, "Alley Dreams". Once I discovered digital photography, I realized I could illustrate my stories in entirely new and vivid ways. The camera sees things I don't, and Photoshop allows me to 'paint' what heretofore could exist only in my imagination.

Other than that, I supplement my retirement income (paltry thing but mine own, as long as my pension survives) with sales of glass beads & jewelry that I make, plus leather articles, handbags & the like. I'd like to be better at both these crafts. I'm going to study shoemaking...it might be the most valuable thing I could learn, considering where this country might be going...?

I'm a former professional musician/songwriter/singer. There's a part of me that still remembers that life, that work, the people in it. That was my youth and it shaped me powerfully. Some of my photos reflect that shaping.
