What can I say about myself...

One thing that I am sure of is: I don't like to talk about myself - at all.

I think that if people want to, they have plenty of chances to contact me and get to know me for theirselves.

I started this stream with a free account, and it used to be a backup for my best pics only. It has developed into a pro account as a backup for the pics I want to save.

(that is why the best pictures are in the beginning of my stream)

I am trying not to upload too many 'snapshots' to my stream.

The biggest part of action firefighting photography in here are pictures who are taken by a friend of mine. He's a press photographer and passes those on to me. He knows about this and approves me placing them here. Nevertheless I want to give him credit; So Marino (Verbeken), THANKS for your hard work!

By placing those pictures I mainly want people to SEE what the firefighter's life is about. Or at least that of the firefighters of Aalst, Belgium.

I like the outdoors... Hiking through nature makes me feel humble and peaceful... More people should do that more often... In stead of taking what does not belong to you, and being jealous of the things you don't have...

Being in the fire service since 1997 I have quickly come to realise that we're not here for an eternity... Be happy with what you have and make the best of the time you're around... Tomorrow it could all come to an end... I cannot stress this enough!!!

As bad as you think you might have it sometimes... Simply being able to read this makes you better off than an enormeous amount of other people in this world.

I like photography because a picture tells more than a 1000 words... And I want to get some pictures up against the wall at home :o)

If only I could learn the art of post-processing my pictures...
