Has been a civil engineer, IT consultant, GIS consultant and was a volunteer crew member with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) as a Deputy 2nd Coxswain at Dunbar, East Lothian. Also worked full-time for the RNLI as a Divisional Assessor / Trainer in the North of England for four years.

Also a commercial boat skipper working on maritime security, renewable energy, hydrographic surveying and oil & gas contracts throughout Europe and Africa as well as providing marine consultancy and training through the Royal Yachting Association and Seafish.

Now working in TV and Film production in Scotland utilising all the skills and experience he has gained over the years.
