I would just like to clarify why and what it is to be seen on this page. There were several reasons for initiating this "project" of mine. I mainly wanted to continue to shoot as much as possible, and have somewhere to display them online. True, nearly all of the photos seen are done from a digital camera. Simply being that I lack the funds and the time of processing any film and scanning the work. I am no longer against this digital movement, but I certainly do not embrace it as my first choice in photographic tools. Give me my old minolta anyday.
I would also like to comment on the content of the work. I would say nearly 90% of the photos have some sort of relevance to either my life, what I involve myself with, and what I find important and worth-displaying. Most of the work can be seen as personal, but this is also a way of communicating with those who I rarely talk to anymore (friends, family). In a way, I'm taking out the middle man at family gatherings and social events when people ask "What have you been up to?" Several times, a conversation has been initiated by somebody mentioning a specific photo or event seen on the page. Doesn't that sound nice? It is, and I will continue to do so.
There are downsides to the functions of the site itself. For example, there is no type of public commenting, only registered users can comment. If you sign up just to comment, it's a monkey-on-the-back just to keep it updated. As well, there are photos I choose not to put up because of my own relationships. I care not to ruffle feathers. As Destiny's Child said "I'm not gunna hate on you on the interenet, cuz my momma taught me better than that."
Lastly, I hope people still continue to check it out every once in a while. The support and feedback I've been getting has been incredibly positive and there's no reason to stop, other than I have to buy and upgrade my account. Not everything fun is free. Take care and stay inspired.
