I'm a biologist (plant ecology and botanist) and I make my living by being a college professor. I also do some research, but I mainly focus on teaching. I like my work, it is satisfying and gives me the feeling that I am (hopefully) helping people.

I love to quilt and knit and make stuff. I've always made stuff, ever since I was a kid. I also like to read and garden and look for neat antiques. And I like to think - especially thinking about the connections between what I do in my "work work" and what I do in my "craft work."

One of my favorite sayings is "How you do anything is how you do everything."
