Fieldey is a graphic artist from Western Australia who specialises in painting surfboards.

Fieldey Biography:

Fieldey, known to her mother as Haylee Fieldes, was born in New Zealand in the 80’s. A move to Norfolk Island as a child kindled her interest in the ocean.

Leaving Norfolk Island in 2001 to study graphic design in Sydney, she spent a few years travelling and working as a graphic artist in London.

When Fieldey moved to Perth, Western Australia in 2007, she started surfing and decided to custom-paint her own board. The rest as they say, is history.

Though painting surfboards was largely a happy accident, Fieldey loves the iconic shape and compositional challenge they present and continues to use them as her primary canvas. Bright colours and surreal characters represent a mash-up of diverse influences – from old school tattoo to Hindu ideology – all underpinned by a wicked sense of humour.
