A video has a beginning and an end, a photo is timeless. A photo can express a thousand words which people can only try and say. I have hundreds more reasons why I love photography, but i'll leave them out!

 

Basically I love photography, I love taking pictures and I love great pictures. I've been taking photos for years, but i'm definately a newbie to photography. A few months into a 16 month trip around SE Asia, i felt the need to get a better camera and i bought the Nikon D50. I waited around (patiently!) until someone got the Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 lens in stock and snapped one up as it's the perfect travel lens. I'm really happy with both and love taking pictures with them.

 

I've since sold the D50 and bought a D80 in China because it was uber cheap - great camera and very happy with it. At the same time i bought a Nikon 50mm f/1.8 lens which is amazing - had lots of fun with that so far!

 

So far i haven't taken any courses on photography or read many books (except the camera manual and one other!). But i hope this will change...i love Flickr because i get to see some amazing photos and like minded people get to see my photos. Plus i can get some feedback on them.
