I've been passionate about photography since before digital came along, or even Flickr or (gasp) before Facebook!

Big picture: I love to travel and inhale the visual and cultural aspects of different places, along with the people, buildings, and nature around or in the midst of it. Over time I organized photos from 10 countries into albums and group posts "here". Take a look!

Long version: My photography of 25+ years was once planted on a long-iffy Yahoo/flickr collection with some wonderful photographers and virtual friends/colleagues sharing a community. I remember. Google + and Picasa too. Flickr, after some "growing pains" remains a constant thread, with many (non-G) pluses.

I've long observed that support for actual photographers out there - who value the tech info like .exif and the context info like location - have been abandoned time and time again in deference to easy display on Facebook, Instagram, etc. "Here" there are other tools, bells & whistles, but I'm happy just to have the home.

Short version: Flickr, unlike G+ is still alive & well for those that survived. Now "we are Verizon"-pwned, no? And "everyone owns a camera", and an everything-else device wrapped around it. So far, it is still possible to find photographers using cameras, tripods, etc. We'll see what happens.

Useful version: Please check out my years of assembled travel photos here. There *were* far more images & viewers on G+. Long-term the most stable and diverse collection is in my own "gallery" (free, non-commercial, semi-educational) at: www.fenichel.com/fenfotos.shtml
