She does all her own self photography on a ten second timer, this is the most difficult and personally challenging genre of photographic art. She carries this out with great technical ability,conceptual awareness and above all she does it with reference to all that is inspiring about photographic art. Having just discovered Katerina's photostream, I've become rather mesmerized...blessed with a wonderful location, her images are beautiful and gently compelling.....at first you might think oooh, there's words to read, it's another one of those streams, but believe me, this is exceptional work. After wandering through her gallery for some time I felt as though I was somehow looking at memories vaguely familiar to me in some way...like a faintly remembered dream.. The blend of text and image is well considered and done skillfully, not just thrown together like some ....this results in a feeling of atmospheric resonance within the images...they deepen as you explore them, setting them apart from the ordinary and mundane...this is the work of an expressive and growing artist in touch with the forces around her and not to be treated with a superficial eye. This really is, as she says, a glimpse into her inner world, which is woven into the garden and countryside around her.. Take your time, let her images enclose you....you will be surprisingly rewarded and maybe even nurtured.....

One could debate all day what constitutes art; it is a question that has evoked controversy throughout the ages. Perhaps closely related to this age old question would be the question "what constitutes an artist?" Rather than attempt to provide some esoteric answer to this question I would rather direct you to view the photography of Femininelure. In the reasoning of this photographer who struggles to define his own voice as an artist I find myself able to recognize the heart and soul of an artist as I look into her amazing images. Above all, I feel that an artist must be courageous enough to bare his or her soul, to confront those aspects of our lives that are most often shrouded in the seclusion of our minds and soul...those secret chambers that house our hopes and fears, our desires and dreams, our gods and demons. I see this ability as an artist in Femininelure's photographic images...a quality that shares with the viewer those aspects of our human experience that the average person can only fantasize about in regards to sharing with the world.
