I love taking photographs. It is a relaxing and exploratory experience for me. I walk around in a curious, creative mood with my eyes open, looking for two-dimensional moments in the three-dimensional, ever-evolving world around us. I strive for visual beauty through reduced and balanced graphics and colors or contrasts that can tell a story or at least convey an affective tone. I know I am not there yet, but by sharing, contemplating and communicating about images, I try to learn. So I am happy to receive kind comments, but also critical, instructive feedback.

I started my photographic journey when I was about ten years old with an Agfa Isorapid. After that I was allowed to use my father's Zeiss Ikon Contina. I took as many pictures as I could afford and set up a darkroom in my mother's laundry room. For my fifteenth birthday I was given a wonderful Nikon FM, which I used for many years with an expanding set of prime lenses. I am and have always been an early adopter of new technology, but I had a difficult relationship with digital photography until I got my first Fuji, an X100.

Now I have four setups. (1) an iPhone is always with me, (2) a Fuji X-E4 (X-PRO2) with a few small lenses when I want to travel light and be unobtrusive; (3) a Sony Alpa 7rv with some high-quality lenses when I leave home to get the best quality pictures; (4) and a Rolleiflex, an analogue medium-format twin-lens reflex camera when I want to slow down. Recently I have started processing my images with Dxo Photolab and I am still learning, but certainly enjoying it.
