My background is biology, the only relevance here being a hint of my passion as a nature guy and an interest in relating some sense of natural history in my images. The rest is just fun: color, composition and form.

The feather images on my website and pictured here are sometimes from quite rare birds. Rest assured, no birds have been harmed as the feathers are mostly borrowed from zoos, museums, and private aviaries. One beauty of feathers is that birds molt them quite often. For us, it's a gift; for the birds its getting rid of unneeded feathers, making way for new ones.

I am always exploring new ideas for my photography. Technically, I am excited to explore some new software that quickly combines multiple images using different points of focus. It discards out of focus areas. This allows unlimited depth of field which is great for these macro images.

All my feather images are taken in a studio with macro digital equipment and artificial lighting. They are all copyrighted and registered.
