I primarily remember the era when the term "camera," without needing to attach the word "film" to it, referred to a diabolical device that devoured film in 24 or 36-frame servings. During a school trip to the United Kingdom in the 1980s armed with a splendid Kodak Instamatic, I created a wonderful photo series of London with 2x24 beautifully blurry photos. At that time, I was convinced that photography was not for me, and I spent peaceful years far from any desire to write with light.

It wasn't the allure of the wonderful world of digital photography that brought me back to this forgotten path, but my diabolical wife who once had the idea to purchase (at a better price) a marvelous all-electronic gadget for preserving all the useless moments of our normal life. I fell into the trap of all those little buttons and seductive dials, gradually investing in equipment that allowed me to pass as a photographer in the eyes of any non-initiate.

Of course, I immediately realized that my expertise in this new, seemingly simple field would catapult me to the status of a new photography genius... nothing less. The levels of being a star or superstar were, naturally, reserved for those who were lucky.

So, I quickly joined forums and other critique websites that were supposed to acknowledge my genius. Things didn't exactly unfold as planned, and I can say that my ego took some massive blows. At the time, I probably imagined that the participants were jealous of my talents.

Time has made me realize that they were right and what I was offering was very poor... Since then, I only take photos for my own enjoyment, still as an amateur trying to create nice images.

This year 2024, I've set myself the challenge of practicing every day and posting a photo of the beauty I've encountered daily.

And as always, If you enjoy these photos, feel free to leave a testimonial
