If you ask me......
There’s a big difference between Birding & Bird Watching.
Though the two terms seem to mean the same they are different:
• Bird Watchers look at birds &
• Birders look for birds.
Birding began as a one off activity for me more than a decade back when visiting a friend's village but this soon turned into regular birding visits and then I took it up as a hobby. After all this time I can say that yes I am a Birder. There's a special joy in going out all alone to bird, your mind settles down. Your senses open up, and all nature seems to become your friend. The silence and the calm of the location away from the noise and clatter of the city gives a soothing effect. It helps you think clearly.
There are millions in this world who are bird watchers but few have that addictive compulsive dedication for birding.
Apart from the dedication the other most important thing required in this fast life is Time.
Most of the time it is the dedication that always makes way for time.
Again among birders you have, Casual Birder, Backyard Birder, Scientist, Professional & Twitchers but that is a topic for another day.
While birding you are dependent on geographical location, weather and also the time of the day.
If you missed the, “Falcon” you have missed it there is not going to be a late night or a repeat show for you of that as you get to see for a sports match or your daily TV soaps.
