Farrell, the new British menswear label, is available now in the following House of Fraser stores across the UK: Birmingham, Bluewater, Cardiff, Gateshead, Glasgow, Lakeside, London Oxford Street, London Westfield (W12), Manchester, Reading.
The line is targeted at guys who like a bit of snap in their clothing - be it for a night out, an afternoon at the footie, or lounging around at home. "Wear it in, wear it out" is Farrell's motto.
The debut Autumn/Winter 2011/12 collection has a strong British feel, notably in its respect for Savile Row tailoring. Every piece is a keeper; this is gear for pulling out of the wardrobe time and time again. Details are rich and humorous, like the secret pockets... for the bus fare home. Branding and logos are tucked away inside.
Signature garment for winter '11 is the ¾-length coat. Outerwear includes a Harry Palmer-style Mac, a wool duffle and flak jacket inspired casual jackets. For dressing up, choose the one-button shawl collar dinner jacket in herringbone and wear it with tailored trousers and bib front dinner shirt. For the weekend, pair the cable-knit cardigan or Aran crew neck with slim straight jeans. Layer in a lightweight granddad and brushed check shirt. For kicking back at home, try the fleece jogger or woven check pants with vintage-styled sweat or fleece hoody.
Accessories are key to creating the final look, with a Homberg, a Flat Cap and a Cricket Cap being the hero pieces. Polka dot silk scarves in navy/ivory or red/ivory are a stylish finishing touch.
The collection is named for Jack Farrell, aka Jack the Giant Killer. Jack was a notable dresser, a Stoke-on-Trent native, who lived a hard life but lived it well. A strong man, Jack believed in honesty, integrity, good manners and a sense of honour. The Farrell range was created to honour Jack's legacy, the result is a collection that balances past influence with modern male style.
The new British menswear label is available now from HouseofFraser.co.uk, Very.co.uk and in the following House of Fraser stores across the UK: Birmingham, Bluewater, Cardiff, Gateshead, Glasgow, Lakeside, London Oxford Street, London Westfield (W12), Manchester, Reading.
The collection was devised by Robbie Williams, Jack Farrell's grandson.
