Born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Pratyay started photography in Alberta, Canada in 2011. He is best known for his moody candid photographs that leave the viewer with stories to imagine and compel to introspect. Primarily self-taught, he studied photojournalism to further advance his skills. His photos have been widely published in various web and print publications, displayed at photo festivals in Miami, Iserlohn, Hamburg, Bangkok, Calgary and Dhaka. His photo-essay ‘Narayanganj Palliative Care Patient Stories’ is considered a landmark for health-care media advocacy in Bangladesh, which was later exhibited at Bangladesh National Museum in December 2019.
