A biologist. 57 years old. I have three children, but now I am single. I was born in Tottori (western Japan, facing Japan Sea). I began to rear fishes at 6 years old and to play in the nature 8 years old. I started stream fishing (lure, fly fishing) when I was a student of a junior high school. I also had enjoyed collecting insects and culturing cacti since I was a boy. Thus, it was really natural thing for me to decide to be a biologist when I was only 14 years old. I loved salmonid fishes so much, then I entered Hokkaido University (Hokkaido is the northern most Island of Japan, a kingdom of salmon and related fishes in Japan) and I stayed there 8 years as an undergraduate student and a graduate student. I studied fish systematics and ecology in the university and I experienced many research voyage. In 1981, I came back to my home town and got a post in Tottori Prefectural Fisheries Research Center. I worked mainly on fish breeding using bio-technology. I experienced so widely variable works in the research center during the rather long period. But, in 2008, I became a freelance. And I am continuing works as a biologist. Apart from my profession, I have many and great interests in the life of human beings, culture, art, and philosophy. I would be very happy if I could be able to make many friends in this site.

私は生物学者です。５７歳。独身。私には三人の子供がいますが、親権がありません。というのも、平成１５年に職場で転倒事故を起こし、後遺症があり、何故か、家庭崩壊してしまったのです。私は子供の時から生き物が好きで、１４歳には生物学者になるのだと心に決めていました。北海道大学に進み、博士後期課程の中途までの８年を札幌と函館で過ごしました。昭和５６年に鳥取に帰り、ずっと、水産試験場に勤務しました。色々な仕事をやりましたが、とりわけヒラメの生物工学を応用した育種の研究は長く、成長の早い雌だけを作る技術や、クローンのヒラメを作り出し、それを品種改良に応用する方法を開発したり、大学との共同研究によって、分子レベルの仕事に著しい成果をあげました。活動の場所はむしろ県内にとどまらず、外国で開かれるシンポジアムにもよく出かけたものです。でも、転倒事故で職を失うことになり、それでも、生物学者であることを続けています。かつての私からは信じられぬ、スローライフの始まりです。私は、何よりも美しい物、自分で惹かれるものに囲まれて過ごすのが大好きです。さて、両親の作った庭の手入れでもして、茶室で一服の茶でも楽しみましょうか。
