I'm a British Dad living in America with my wife and three kids. I'm also at various times a blogger, a computer programmer, a scientist,. engineer and manager.

My screen name is supposed to read as The Exile in NY and is related to my blog Exiles in New York where I go by the name the_exile.

I was a keen film SLR user when I was younger, got my first digital P&S when my wife was pregnant with our first child, rejoined the SLR world (Pentax K200D) in January 2009 and have been rediscovering the joy of photography for its own sake and not just for illustrating the stories I tell about our adventures in a foreign land.
