Evilenko is a brutal metalband that combines all sorts of metal/hardcore riffs. Mostly we play thrashmetal combined with some hardcore and deathmetal. We don't want to focus on one single style. If we like a riff or a sound, we just use it. What we do focus on is trying to make songs that don't sound too much alike and that will entertain all sorts of "metal" audiences.

Evilenko was founded in a bar by two strangers who shared one passion: Heavy Metal!! They got together in 2007 with a couple of guys and started herearsing. When the first 5 songs were finished the first drummer (Sven) was allready replaced by Jappe. Now Evilenko started to play their first gigs. Reactions were pretty good so Evilenko decided to record their first Demo. These plans had to be delayed because Jappe tried to chase his succes with another band and he left. After a few auditions, the current drummer (Dries) was found. He showed himself very motivated and learned all the songs in a jiffy. In 2009 Evilenko finally recorded their demo. Some songs of this demo even got played on national radio (Studio Brussel) so for a small band this was a succes. Evilenko started playing more and bigger stages and in 2010 founding member and bassplayer Bert decided to quit because It was too hard to combine a band and a household. Bert did have the decency to keep playing untill the new bass player was worked in. In october of 2010 Bert was replaced by Tom. In july 2011 Evilenko will hit the studio for the recording of their first full album.

Although Evilenko is often classified under "Death metal" the lyrics are nothing like that. We try to play agressive music but with a positive message. Evilenko is a metalband with a hardcore attitude so no violence-spreading of devil-worshipping bullshit for us!!

The bandname “Evilenko” is also the name of a movie about the notourious serial killer “Andreij Romanov Chikatilo” a.k.a. “The Rostov Ripper” Some people wrongly think the name comes from “evil&co”.
