I was born and bred in the South of Germany but call New York City my home for many years. I used to shoot a lot of fashion and beauty but in the past few years my visual interest has shifted and broadened beyond the glamorous looking side of life. Now I rather call myself an image maker. Instead of shooting clothes I much prefer to shoot people without them. Its more fun and every time someone reveals themselves in front of my camera its a unique and intimate experience. I have even gotten naked myself during shoots to balance things out which then is a whole another experience itself. Very often I find myself just shooting lights, colors and movements and the camera becomes a tool to create completely abstract images without purpose other than reflecting a mood or a moment. Its more like a painting. I can get very technical on certain jobs, when the lighting set-up gets very intricate, especially when I shoot projections, a technique, I have refined over the years and has limitless creative possibilites. In the end its really the image that matters, not the technique through which it was achieved.
