I'm having fun taking pictures and I hope the quality improves as I go along.

I like a lot of pictures on Flickr, but only comment on a few. To comment I feel I need to have something more to say than "Great shot". So that's what my "liking" means: "Great shot!"

Serendipity is nice, so I frequently spend a little time on Flickrhivemind to see some random new uploads to Flickr. A lot of bad shots, but the good ones frequently let me discover new-to-me good photographers.

I also discover lots of pictures by checking out shots that other flickr members have liked. As I said, serendipity is a good thing.
