"It was never part of the plan..." say the two founding members of studio Commonwealth . We built the space anticipating a need for an open area to test full-scale architectural work. As time passed, we realized that, as designers trained in Architecture, what we really desired, was to feel the influential richness of the related design fields, right here next to the studio. From this position, we began the Espeis Gallery.

The foundational series which set the tone for the gallery, was the Vs. series- a display of mergers and alliances between the digital design disciplines. Guest curated by the Maxalot Gallery the Vs. series combines the dimensional vision of Commonwealth with the graphic and motion attitude of Joshua Davis, Michael C. Place (Build) and Kenzo Minami.

Enhancing this core foundation of collaborative exhibitions is an impressive line up of artists whose solo and collaborative visions are sure to inspire the best of New York.
