Taking pictures since many years mostly during my motorbike travels, was more documentating the travels with my iPhone or pocket camera using automatic mode. In November 2017 I bought a bridge camera (Lumix FZ2000) to extend my fotografic limits, coming back to manual mode of the old analogue days decades ago.

Very soon the photography bacillus infected me, spending time and learning with the camera plus postprocessing whenever possible. Being fascinated by night and astro-landscape in addition to landscape photography, the possibilities of the FZ2000 became too limited. Thus I risked taking the big step towards full frame, I'm using the Sony A7 III as my main camera since August 2018. Additionally I had to learn finding the right lenses for my puposes, becoming familiar with Lightroom, apps like PlanIt Pro, PhotoPills, TPE, and more. Hard stuff for an old man... 😉

Nevertheless I am satisfied with the results you may enjoy looking at my photostream. Even more I love the development process of going out during day and especially night to looking for great locations, exploring known ones newly, looking at them with different views. In one sentence, seeing the world with new eyes, that's why I love photography. 😊

In the meantime, I’ve also taken up a completely different pursuit: photography using old or manual lenses – sometimes without an aperture or focus – and preferably for close-up shots with plenty of bokeh. I now own over 100 of them and really enjoy adapting very ‘unusual’ lenses, such as those from projectors. Many of them produce very distinctive images – also offering a fresh perspective on the world through different eyes. 👀
